3 shows on Netflix that you’re not watching… but should

I LOVE watching television, but truthfully it can be a real time suck. Why not turn it into a learning experience? I’ve written before about the virtues of Netflix and figured why not turn it into a series. Here’s my first round-up of shows on Netflix that you’re not watching but should. Adjust your settings so that the subtitles are in English and settle in!

1. La casa de las flores

This is one of Netflix’s newest offerings as they venture into original programming in the Spanish speaking world. It follows the twisted dramas of the De la Mora family as they navigate the revelations of the darkest kept secrets. The first 10 mins features a flurry of celebration, suicide, surprise revelations and secret engagements. Definitely worth a watch!

2. El Clon

This is an oldie but a goodie. Netflix hosts Telemundo’s 2010 reincarnation of the original which was produced in 2002 by Brazil’s  TVGlobo. El Clon follows the story of star-crossed lovers, Jade and Lucas who are separated by religion. It covers a wide range of topics from Islamophobia, unrequited love, cloning, and more.

3. Sin senos sí hay paraíso

This is a personal favorite. Rivalry, drug trafficking, morality, love, betrayal, seduction… this novela has it all! Sin senos sí hay paraíso picks up 20 years after the prequel, Sin senos no hay paraíso tells the story of the Marín-Santana family, Catalina, her mother Hilda and her father Albeiro and their  ongoing rivalry with the drug trafficking Beltráns. Bonus: There are 3 seasons and currently, Netflix has the prequel, Sin senos no hay paraíso and the first two seasons.

Cheers to your success!

Congratulations Prima!!!! As you know, I need to learn more Spanish. Aunt Jean would always talk to me in Spanish but it was a little difficult for me to catch on. I want to let my heritage shine!! I would love to be bilingual. A lot of my patients are Hispanic as well as my Dr. who is from 🇨🇺 ❤️I only know a little bit but I know I can catch on, as Mima would say Chrishanda, you have the voice for it lol. I’m ready!!!!!
