Why Spanish?

I am so excited that you’re here and that you’ve chosen to practice Spanish with me! Not only is Spanish the second most spoken language in the United States but 20 countries around the world have Spanish as their official language for a total of almost 437 million Spanish Speakers worldwide and that number now includes YOU!

Spanish is a dynamic and rich language that puts you at a unique advantage in the US.  Not only is it an accessible language for you as an English speaker due to its use of the Roman alphabet and phonetic structure, but it is also a gateway language to other Romance Languages such as Italian, French, Portuguese, and Romanian.

Did you know that by 2060 there will be an estimated 160 million Latinos in the United States? What does that mean for you as a language learner? Dominating a second language will  broaden your prospects for employment as well as enrich your travel experiences by adding significantly to your list of destinations that you can comfortably travel to without fear of a language barrier. Additionally, learning a second language puts you on a direct path to become a true global citizen as second language acquisition makes it that much easier to learn your third and successive languages!
